International live-action co-pro Stormworld to enter production in 2008

Australia's Great Western Entertainment has brought together production, investment and broadcast partners from Canada, Singapore and Australia to get its new kids and family sci-fi series Stormworld off the ground.

Australia’s Great Western Entertainment has brought together production, investment and broadcast partners from Canada, Singapore and Australia to get its new kids and family sci-fi series Stormworld off the ground.

Vancouver, Canada Brightlight Pictures will co-produce the live action 26 x 30-minute series with Great Western under the WiKKid.tv brand along with Singapore’s TheatreRed.

The series heads into production in January, with principal photography being carried out in Perth, Singapore, Vancouver and the remote Kimberley coast in Northwest Australia.

Daro Film Distribution of Monaco is handling worldwide distribution, and the firm has already sealed pre-sales to broadcasters in Ireland, Romania and Hungary. A MIPTV 2009 launch is in the works.
