Toronto, Canada-based Portfolio Entertainment has sold its half-hour animated holiday special Something from Nothing to ARD’s Hessischer Rundfunk, and the old-world tale will be broadcast to German audiences this holiday season.

Based on the best-selling book by Phoebe Gilman, the special tells the story of Joseph, Grampa and mouse friend Mazel. International broadcasters Teletoon (Canada), Paxnet (USA), Canal J (France), Channel 5 (UK), IETV (Israel), CCV (Scandinavia), RTP (Portugal), RTV (Slovenia) and Ki.Ka (Germany) have already picked up the special.
