People moves: Nick names new SVP of music marketing

As Nickelodeon continues to delve deeper into developing its own in-house live-action talent, the net has named Doug Cohn to the newly created position of SVP of music marketing and talent, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group.

As Nickelodeon continues to delve deeper into developing its own in-house live-action talent, the net has named Doug Cohn to the newly created position of SVP of music marketing and talent, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group.

Cohn will spearhead the group’s music business, promoting new and existing Nick music franchises as part of the company’s recent deal with Sony Music Label Group to co-develop, co-produce and co-finance television and music projects over the next four years. The first joint-venture under the agreement is The Naked Brothers Band original music soundtrack, launching on October 9.

Prior to joining Nick, Cohn held various posts over his 13 years at music label Atlantic Records. Most recently, he was the SVP of video promotion and production.
