Spin Master looks to online racing game

Toronto, Canada-based toyco Spin Master is getting into the gaming market with the launch of boys-skewing Swypeout Online Battle Racing. The online, multiplayer game gives kids a chance to compete in a series of race challenges, fuelled by collectible cards that can be purchased at retail and transferred into virtual components such as cars, and custom add-ons.

Toronto, Canada-based toyco Spin Master is getting into the gaming market with the launch of boys-skewing Swypeout Online Battle Racing. The online, multiplayer game gives kids a chance to compete in a series of race challenges, fuelled by collectible cards that can be purchased at retail and transferred into virtual components such as cars, and custom add-ons.

Players each have their own garage area at www.swypeout.com and can customize their cars, and then enter battle races against friends and other players from around the world. The starter kit includes a USB swipe unit and five cards retails for US$19.99 with booster packs of six additional cards for US$7.99.
