It’s not exactly a core kids property, but Random House Children’s Books UK has picked up the publishing rights for the official Ugly Betty tie-in book, based on the hour-long ABC Television series of the same name.

Ugly Betty: The Book will mimic the magazine format from the show’s lead title Mode, and will include four-color behind-the-scenes photos, fashion spreads and even fake advertisements. The twist is that the design will reflect what the fictional mag would look like if Betty was the editor. Copies should hit UK retail shelves before the holiday season.

The multi-award winning comedy starts its second season later this month.
