On the heels of scoring a 7.2% spike in Q2 revenue, retailer Build-A-Bear Workshop has announced plans to open 12 new stores in North America this fall. The opening of 15 new stores in North America, including outlets in Alaska, Montana and Puerto Rico earlier this year helped to drive the increase.
Along with the bricks-and-mortar sales uptick, Build-A-Bear saw an 8.6% bump in online sales during this period. Overall, the company generated US$100.4 million in revenue compared to the US$93.7 million made in Q2 last year. As for profit, net income rang in at US$1.6 million and includes a US$1.7 million operating loss from its UK business.
