Target Entertainment has signed a new deal to rep the international licensing rights (excluding Japan) for the forthcoming movie The Nutcracker.

Target will be on the hunt for licensees at Licensing Show this week, and is planning a simultaneous product rollout with the film’s release in winter 2008.

Based on the classic Christmas tale, the live-action/CGI movie will feature new songs written by Tim Rice and feature a Hollywood cast including John Turturro and Nathan Lane.
