London, UK-based entertainment company Entara has landed UK licensing rights to The Magic Roundabout. A new CGI preschool 52 x 11-minute series from Ellipsanime, Film Action, M6 and Disney Channel France is set to debut on Nickelodeon UK and Germany’s ZDF later this year. Entara’s working on launching a full-scale program for the property and intends to start rolling out product asap.

Based on the original 1960s BBC series created by Serge Danot, the new iteration will feature the iconic roundabout and familiar characters including shaggy dog Doogle and Dylan the rabbit. Entara’s non-executive director and UK preschool series expert Theresa Plummer-Andrews is co-directing the new incarnation.
