Well-known Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash has accepted an expanded role within Sesame Workshop as senior creative advisor. In his new remit, Clash is consulting on a broad range of the non-profits projects, including domestic and international productions of Sesame Street and outreach programs on multiple media platforms.
Additionally, he’s working with new properties as well as continuing to breath life and personality into Elmo. Clash now reports to Gary E. Knell, Sesame Workshop’s president and CEO.
Clash joined the cast of Sesame Street more than 20 years ago, after attracting the attention of The Muppets creator Jim Henson. Since then, he has served as co-executive producer for spin-offs Elmopalooza, CinderElmo, and Elmo’s World.
