WB dives further into gaming

Going beyond out-licensing its properties to third parties for video game development, WB is planning to take a bigger kick at the interactive gaming can with the launch of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Headed up by senior VP Jason Hall, WBIE will be looking for new opportunities and partners to diversify its gaming business to cover platforms such as next-gen consoles, multi-player on-line gaming, wireless applications and Nokia’s N-Gage. The unit has also set up a software division called Warner Bros. Games that will create and distribute titles based on WB properties, eliminating the need to outsource some production work to outside software developers.
