Universal Studios Consumer Products has granted the worldwide master toy license to Hasbro for Universal’s upcoming 2001 picture Jurassic Park III. A line of dino games, puzzles, plush, electronic items and boys action toys are planned. USCP will also do apparel including undies, shoes and coordinates, along with a planned publishing program.

Alliance Atlantis Communications is creating a line of street-smart apparel based on its new series Drop the Beat with Toronto-based apparel company Custom Casuals Group. The line ranges from hats to vests to jerseys and jackets and will be available only on the Internet at the series’ Web site, www.dropthebeat.com, or at www.webstorecompany.com, beginning this fall.

BBC Worldwide has named TVNZ Enterprises the New Zealand licensing agent for its Tweenies property, while Reed Books, Hasbro and Roadshow Entertainment will distribute books and merchandise in the territory. Tweenies will now air five days a week on TVNZ’s TV2 in Auckland. The broadcaster has licensed 260 episodes of the series.
