Nickelodeon and CBS Television have arranged to swap a couple of toons, positioning the series’ Canadian producer, Nelvana, to launch turtle-based merchandise in the U.S. Starting January 11, Franklin will move from CBS to air weekdays on Nick Jr., bumping fourth-season success Rupert from the Nick block into the green one’s old spot on CBS Kidshow, the net’s Saturday morning kids programming block. The move will garner an extra five million viewers for Franklin, giving the preschool property the same licensed merch potential as Maurice Sendak’s Little Bear, another Nelvana series that’s now in its fourth season on Nick Jr.
