IMAX and New York-based Parachute Entertainment plan to develop a 3-D, large-format screen adaptation of a new children’s time-travel novel called The Beast by R.L. Stine, author of the popular Goosebumps book series.

Meanwhile, the Australian film industry has sprouted a new specialized production sector in response to a heightened demand on the global market for large-format movies for IMAX cinemas. At least seven companies pitched non-fiction and drama concepts to delegates at the International Space Theater Consortium conference in September.
