The Teletubbies move one step closer to realizing world domination this month with the release of two new direct-to-video titles from Warner Home Video.
Here Come the Teletubbies and Dance With the Teletubbies (both US$14.95), which appear under the PBS Kids on PBS Home Video label, find the cherub-faced foursome examining their world, Tellytubbyland, in much the same way they do on the popular TV show for preschoolers that began airing on PBS last April.
With the release of the videos, Warner Home Video is offering retailers a choice of five-18-, 24-, 36-, 48- and 96-piece-pre-pack displays and pallets, all of which will carry promotional materials, such as the Teletubby super-sized growth chart, activity sheets and posters.
To buttress the releases, WHV launched a national ad campaign in mid-August that is zeroing in on mothers as its target consumer group. Commercials for the Teletubbies videos are appearing on NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, WB and TNT.
