Coinciding with the June 14 airing of the Blue’s birthday episode of Blue’s Clues, Nickelodeon is rolling out to retail for the first time a line of Blue’s Clues licensed products. This year, items will be available at specialty stores including Noodle Kidoodle, FAO Schwarz, Learning Smith, Zany Brainy, Imaginarium and some independent outlets. In January 1999, Sears will kick off a nine-month exclusive program in which the chain will showcase apparel and accessories in dedicated boutiques. This marks Nickelodeon’s first partnership with Sears. At present, more than 15 licensees, including master toy licensee Tyco Preschool, are producing Blue’s Clues products.
