After months of negotiations, Buena Vista Television and UPN have signed an agreement that will see a Disney-branded block on UPN beginning fall 1999. The deal was delayed last January when Nickelodeon began courting UPN with a similar proposal.

The new two-hour children’s block will air on UPN six days a week. Shows being considered for the block include Disney’s Recess, Doug, Pepper Ann and Hercules. Kellogg’s, which sponsored the ‘Disney Afternoon’ block, will retain its role as primary sponsor, despite the move to UPN.
