Marvel Entertainment Group is offering fans a slew of licensed products through a Marvel store on America Online. This is Marvel’s first step into on-line retailing, and it is planned as a long-term venture. More than 100 items, ranging in price from US$12 to US$300, are available in such categories as accessories, art and collectibles, interactive and video, sporting goods, cards and books. The items are largely exclusive to the store, and can be ordered on-line by credit card. Also new to its AOL area (keyword: Marvel), Marvel has launched an exclusive comic starring Wolverine, a member of the X-Men, following the introduction of its first exclusive on-line Spider-Man comic last summer (see page 16 in KidScreen’s August 1996 issue).
