Sunbow Entertainment has opened its own animation studio in Los Angeles, called Sunbow Animation, headed by Geraldine Clarke, producer of the hit show Rugrats.

The studio opens with the animation team that was behind the international series The Tick. The team will produce the third season of the series.

The studio will be set up to bring together a variety of creative teams from around the world, furthering Sunbow’s strategic commitment to international co-productions.

This marks the first time in Sunbow’s history that the company has owned an animation studio.

Sunbow d’es not intend to create a singular studio style, but will maintain its focus on series that have unique looks and are creator-driven, said Sunbow president C.J. Kettler, in a statement.
