AlphaStar Digital Television, a digital-to-home satellite television provider that will start this spring, has signed on The Disney Channel. The provider will carry the pay TV network’s East Coast and West Coast feeds, with each broadcast on its own channel.

‘It’s one of our flagship services,’ says Stuart Jacob, vice president of programming, marketing, new business and sales with Stamford, Connecticut-based AlphaStar. The Disney Channel meets the company’s mandate of offering programming for the entire family.

AlphaStar will announce its launch date this month, and will offer as many as 100 channels. It projects to bring on 400,000 subscribers during its first year. AlphaStar claims to be the first 50-state, world standard digital-to-home satellite television provider.
